We went to the park last weekend and took our niece's one year photos. I haven't been taking pictures for awhile now so it was fun to get back into it, especially with a smiley one year old. Athena is so adorable! She has such a sweet personality and I can't get enough of those toothy grins. So glad they live close enough that our kids can grow up together.

March was a pretty full month for our family. Between a surgery, two birthdays, and Easter it seemed like we were always working on plans for something. The weather was nicer as well so we were able to spend a lot of time outside. March has always been one of my favorite months, partly because it has Oliver and I's birthdays but mainly because winter is coming to a close and spring is coming. Although, it's April now and it snowed yesterday. Ha, I guess that's Indiana for ya!
Jared had surgery to remove his tonsils and repair his deviated septum in the beginning of March. Everyone told me how it was bad as an adult but it didn't really sink in until the doctor gave me the run down of what to expect. Thankfully his recovery went well! He was definitely in pain but he was right on schedule for everything the doctor had told us. My parents kept the kids for several days so Jared could rest and it was a huge help. I'm not sure what we would have done without them! The kids and I did a lot of movie watching in an attempt to keep quiet.
My parent's were going to take the kids to see Zootopia but Jared and I decided to tag along. It was Ivy's first time at the movie theater and she did surprisingly well. Popcorn and candy kept the kids pretty quiet. :)
We were walking at the park one day and Oliver was pretending to look through his hands (binoculars) for a treasure. Jared heard him talking about this and thought it would be fun to take them geocaching. We downloaded the app and got to walking and searching. It was surprisingly fun and the kids enjoyed "treasure hunting". We'll probably do it more this summer.
I know my last blog post was all about Oliver's birthday party but it wouldn't be a March recap if a few pictures didn't make it in here too.
It was the big 3-0 for me this year and my sweet husband planned a surprise party for me. We were supposed to go out for a date night of bowling, dinner, and a movie. When we arrived at the bowling alley our friends and family were there waiting. It was a great surprise and so much fun. The kids had never been bowling and they both loved it. Can't wait to take them back!
Easter was the same week of our birthdays this year and we really didn't have anything planned. We usually go to church and have dinner with family but unfortunately I was sick on Easter Sunday. We ended up staying home and just doing stuff with the kids. I think they still enjoyed it!
Here is some miscellaneous March fun!
